Jason Graf is a Buckeye High School graduate (1995). He completed the physical therapy program at The Ohio State University in 2000. He actually started working at Ferrell-Whited as an aide when he was in high school and has since taken over ownership of the practice in July 2006. He has worked in both outpatient and nursing home settings. His post graduate studies include Craniosacral Therapy I, treatments for the diabetic and amputee, muscle energy techniques, American Back Pain Center seminar, orthopedic rehabilitation of the shoulder, Back to Golf seminar and advanced treatments for foot, ankle and shoulder injuries in sports. Jason has a wonderful sense of humor sure to brighten your day!


Melinda Ferrell graduated from the Ohio State University in 1979. She has been on staff at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown and Timken Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio where she helped to develop the “Fitness for Two” exercise programs for pregnant women. Her post graduate education includes McKenzie Spinal Techniques, Mulligan mobilization, TMJ dysfunction, Craniosacral Therapy I & II, myofascial release techniques, Lymph Drainage Therapy I & II, kinesiotaping, strain-counterstrain techniques, mobilization of the nervous system, shoulder & knee rehab, vestibular rehab, functional capacity evaluations and spinal stabilization techniques. Melinda is the “back-bone” of this clinic bringing to her patients years of sound wisdom, expertise and proven results!


Meghan Graf graduated from The Ohio State University in 1999 with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy. She has worked in a variety of settings including orthopedics, geriatrics and aquatic therapy. She has been on staff at Ferrell-Whited since 2001. Her post graduate studies include Craniosacral Therapy I and Lymph Drainage I, American Back Pain Center seminar, mobilizations with movement, myofascial release techniques, shoulder and knee advanced sports medicine techniques, fibromyalgia, treatment for the amputee and the Pilates method for use as therapeutic and corrective exercise. Julie Meyers attended Ohio University where she participated in track and cross country while earning her bachelors degree. She continued her education and earned her masters degree in physical therapy in 2000. She has been on staff at Ferrell-Whited since 2000. Her post graduate education includes rehab of the complicated shoulder & knee, Craniosacral Therapy I, fibromyalgia, manual therapy techniques and rehab of the foot & ankle. Greg Schimmoeller graduated from the Ohio State University in 2000 with a Bachelors of Science in physical Therapy. He has worked as a staff member and director in outpatient settings. His post graduate education includes McKenzie Spinal Techniques, Craniosacral Therapy, American Back Pain Center, mobilization and muscle energy techniques for the spine and pelvis, advanced treatments for shoulder, foot and ankle, kinesiotaping, and functional capacity evaluations. Sean McBride graduated from Walsh University in 2010 with a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. He ran track and cross country at Walsh and was a graduate assistant coach. Sean helped teach in the Anatomy and Physiology labs at Walsh and he completed a research study analyzing how therapists use evidence-based practice. Sean plans on becoming an Orthopedic Certified Specialist in the near future.Watch Sean’s Story



Sarah Vizer
graduated in 2011 from Walsh University where she earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy degree. She attended Walsh University for her undergraduate studies in Biology where she also ran cross country. Her clinical experiences include outpatient orthopedics, long term acute care, inpatient rehab and pediatrics as well as aquatics. She is currently certified in Kinesotaping after completing her KT1 and KT2 courses through Texas Children’s Hospital where she competed her pediatrics training. Sarah has experience working with children of all ages with special needs as well as those with developmental disabilities. She is also a member of both the pediatrics and aquatics sections of the American Physical Therapy Association.


Abby Swope graduated from Walsh University in 2011 with a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. She played soccer at Walsh and was a graduate assistant coach. Abby completed a research study on the effects of nutrition and exercise in the prevention of osteoporosis. Her clinical affiliations include an outpatient rotation at the Cleveland Clinic, the VA Medical Center, and an acute care rotation at Akron City Hospital. She is one of our aquatic therapists as well as treating patients “on land.”


Matthew Stevens graduated from Walsh University in 2010 with a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. He attended Baldwin-Wallace College for his undergraduate studies in Pre-Physical Therapy and Exercise Science, where he also played collegiate football for four years. His clinical experience includes outpatient orthopedics, inpatient rehab and acute care. Matt’s post graduate education includes manual therapy and neuromuscular stabilization of the lumbar spine and sacroiliac joint and diagnosis of shoulder pathology in throwing athletes. He plans to continue his post graduate education in manual therapy techniques and sports rehab.


Christine Haslem is a ’91 Brunswick High School graduate.
She has been a Medina County resident all her life. Christine has worked in various medical fields since she graduated from high school. She enjoys working with the patients on their billing needs. Christine exudes a charismatic leadership ability providing an excellent rapport with all Ferrell-Whited staff and patients.Watch Christine’s Story  


Melissa Luxon graduated from the Medina County Career Center in 1990 from the Executive & Legal Secretarial Program. After graduating she worked for a local retailer specializing in customer service while receiving a degree from Bryant & Stratton Business College in the Medical Secretarial Program. Afterward, she went on to become an Office Manager for 8 years at a local Accounting Firm in the Medina area where she acquired her CTP (Certified Tax Preparer) certification. In early 2008 she returned to Medina County Career Center Adult Education Program and earned certification by N.H.A as a Certified Billing & Coding Specialist (CBCS) as well as a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) with excellence in academic achievement.


Lorie Clark graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. After graduating, she worked at a major retailer in management for several years, but enjoys working for a small privately owned business now. Lorie is originally from Canton, Ohio but has lived in Medina for over 10 years. She joined the Ferrell-Whited staff in November 2010. Her job consists of Administrative Assistant and Office Manager.


Kim Wooddell is a ’81 graduate of Buckeye High School. Over the last 20 years she has acquired her professional skills in quality customer service and administrative assistance utilizing telephone, computer, organizational and multi-level tasks as an Executive Secretary working for various local and international companies in the fields of civil engineering, construction, retail management and medical/dental. Kim’s warm personality and friendly smile will welcome you as you enter Ferrell-Whited at our front desk.


Nicole Hickman is a graduate of the Wayne County Schools Career Center in the Medical Office Billing and Coding program. Her strengths originate from over 10 years experience in customer and patient relations. Her position at Ferrell-Whited includes front desk duties. Her personality, professionalism, and positive nature make a great impact on others.


Sadie Graf will be the first to greet you when you enter Ferrell-Whited on Fridays. She is our four-legged “PT Assistant” who enjoys boosting the patients’ morale and, of course, receiving treats and taking naps on the job. She is the most popular member of our team. Please don’t hesitate to let us know however if you have an allergy or fear of dogs and we will be sure to put her in a secured location while you are in our facility.
